The Royal Thai Mint website, presenting its coins, news and learning centre so that the public and visitors can find them easily.
Royal Thai Mint
DNA Maker designed the website of the Royal Thai Mint (กองกษาปณ์) of the Treasury Department, with a refined white, black and gold design that links its product information, news and learning centre.
The client
The Royal Thai Mint (กองกษาปณ์, also known as โรงกษาปณ์) is a unit of the Treasury Department, Ministry of Finance. It produces Thailand's coins as well as commemorative medals and royal decorations. The first mint was set up inside the Grand Palace in 1860.
Today the mint stands on Phahonyothin Road in Khlong Luang, Pathum Thani. The same site houses the Learning Center on the Evolution of Coin and Royal Decoration Production, which the public can visit free of charge.
What we built
DNA Maker designed a website that presents the mint's identity and its expertise in coin production, with a refined design in white, black and gold.
The design links product information, news and the learning centre so that each part stands out and is easy to reach. Large photographs of the mint building and of coin production run through the pages.
What's inside
The main menu covers About the Mint, Products, News, Learning Center, Order Production and Contact Us, and the top bar has a language switch, a link to the Treasury Department website, text size controls and search. The About page has a video, the mint's history, its vision and four missions, from producing circulating and commemorative coins to installing and repairing strongroom doors for government agencies.
The Products page lays out coins and badge pins as a picture grid with their names, such as the 10-baht bimetallic circulating coin, with buttons to the Royal Thai mint shop on Facebook and LINE and to the coin and product sales system. Each product page has photos from several angles, a table of metal, technique, weight, size and mintage, an order button, share buttons and a file download.
The News page is split into public relations news, coin news and activities and visits. Each story has a lead photo and a photo album.
The Learning Center page presents the eight exhibition zones as a slideshow with a description of each zone, followed by opening days and hours, the steps for walk-in and group visits, downloadable request forms and a map. The Contact page has a map, an enquiry form and the mint's address.
